Professor Gamini Pushpakumara, Director, Postgraduate Institute of Agriculture,Professor Barana Jayawardana, Dean, Faculty of Agriculture, Dr. Anuradha Jayaweera (Alumnus of Saga University), Faculty of Agriculture,and two undergraduate students of the University of Peradeniya, Sri Lanka visited Saga University from 9th to 13th January 2025. The purpose of the visit was to participate in a workshop, an international seminar, and exposure visits organized by the International Collaborative Education – Strategic PS Project of Saga University, Japan under the theme “Human Resource Development for Rural Development under Climate Change”. The three-year project is coordinated by the Faculty of Agriculture and Faculty of Economics of Saga University, Japan. The delegates met Professor Hiroshi Haneishi, Dean, Faculty of Economics and Professor Saliya De Silva of Faculty of Economics, Saga University on 10th January 2025 to discuss the possibility of establishing collaborative education programs and strengthening existing partnerships of education and research between the two universities.

2025年1月9日から13日にかけて、スリランカ・ペラデニヤ大学のGamini Pushpakumara大学院農学研究科長、Barana Jayawardana農学研究科長、Dr. Anuradha Jayaweera（佐賀大学農学部卒業生）、学部生2名が佐賀大学を訪問されました。
代表団は「気候変動下における農村開発のための人材育成」をテーマに、佐賀大学の国際連携教育-戦略的PSプロジェクトが主催するワークショップ・国際セミナーの参加、視察を行いました。このプロジェクトは、佐賀大学農学部と経済学部により連携実施されています。
代表団は2025年1月10日、佐賀大学経済学部の羽石寛志学部長を表敬訪問し、羽石寛志学部長およびSaliya De Silva教授と両大学間の共同教育プログラム設立の可能性や既存の教育・研究パートナーシップの強化について意見交換を行いました。
